There are moments in life when emotions feel heavier than words can hold.
Sometimes, they sit quietly in the body—unspoken, unseen, yet deeply felt.
My journey into Emotional Freedom Technique EFT began from a space of curiosity—a desire to understand how emotions live within us, and how they might be gently released through somatic awareness.
The Beginning of My Discovery
I was first introduced to Emotional Freedom Technique EFT through a personal recommendation from my Emotional Intelligence course trainer, who encouraged me to explore this healing modality.
This led me to Evelyn Lim, an EFT Tapping & Transformation Coach based in Singapore.
At that time, I had heard of tapping before—but I had never truly experienced it myself.
So I stepped into the class with openness, without expectation, simply allowing myself to learn.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, is a gentle mind-body practice that blends psychological awareness with acupressure points on the body.
By lightly tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on emotions, memories, or sensations, EFT helps the nervous system regulate and release emotional tension.
Many people searching for how does EFT tapping work for anxiety often discover that it is less about removing emotions and more about allowing the body to process them safely.
In simple terms, EFT can support:
- Emotional regulation
- Stress relief
- Nervous system calming
- Release of emotional buildup in the body
It is a gentle method often explored by those looking for natural ways to calm anxiety fast without overwhelming the system.
What does research suggest?
Studies on EFT show promising outcomes in physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.

These findings suggest that EFT may be a valuable complementary approach for supporting emotional wellbeing and improving quality of life, particularly for people experiencing chronic stress or persistent pain. While EFT is not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment, growing research indicates it can be a helpful addition to a holistic healing journey.
Research also has indicated that EFT may help:
- Reduce anxiety and stress levels
- Lower cortisol (stress hormone)
- Improve emotional regulation
- Support trauma-related symptoms
Some findings suggest EFT may calm the brain’s stress response system, helping the body shift from survival mode into a more grounded and regulated state.
This is why many people exploring does EFT tapping really work for stress find it helpful as a complementary emotional wellness practice.
While EFT does not replace therapy, it is increasingly recognised as a gentle mind-body practice that supports emotional regulation and healing.
The First Experience of EFT
During a live demonstration in class, Evelyn guided one participant through the tapping process while the rest of us followed along.
As we practiced together, something unexpected unfolded.
Even though each of us carried different emotional experiences, many began noticing subtle shifts within their bodies.
For me, areas of tension began to ease. The heaviness I had been holding felt lighter—like something quietly releasing its grip.
It was gentle. Yet undeniable.
Learning Through Experience
We were introduced to different methods, including the “movie replay” technique, where emotional memories are gently revisited while tapping—allowing the body to process stored emotions in a safe and supported way.
This approach is often used by those seeking a step-by-step EFT tapping guide, as it provides a gentle structure for working through emotional experiences.
What stayed with me most was the energy in the room.
I witnessed emotional release within the group—tears, vulnerability, and deep presence unfolding naturally.
We supported one another—not by fixing, but by simply being present.
It felt safe. Human. Real.
This experience also showed me how EFT can support those wondering how to release emotional blockages in the body, not through force, but through awareness and gentle presence.

What I Realised
That experience changed something in me.
Emotional Freedom Technique EFT is not just a technique—it is a way of gently meeting what we feel, without resistance.
Through my own experience, I realised how powerful it can be when the body is given space to release emotional tension safely.
It is simple in structure, yet deeply supportive when practiced with awareness.
Integrating EFT Into My Healing Spaces
This experience became a turning point in my healing journey.
I felt called to continue learning and integrating EFT—not only for myself, but as a tool to support others.
In my healing & wellness workshops and 1-to-1 sessions, Emotional Freedom Technique EFT will be part of the healing space we co-create together.
A space to gently release what feels heavy.
A space to return to yourself.
Who needs EFT
We do not view EFT as a miracle cure. Instead, we see it as one evidence-informed practice among many that can support emotional wellness, alongside mindfulness, self-reflection, compassionate conversations, and professional healthcare when appropriate.
This space is for you if you are:
- Feeling emotionally overwhelmed or mentally drained
- Carrying stress, anxiety, or unresolved emotions
- Struggling with overthinking or restlessness
- Seeking gentle tools for emotional regulation
- Curious about mind-body techniques for emotional healing
You don’t need to be in crisis to begin.
Sometimes, it is simply about learning how to support yourself with more gentleness in daily life.
Many people exploring emotional freedom technique step by step are simply looking for a safe starting point—and this is exactly what EFT offers.

Closing Reflection
Healing is not about forcing change.
It is about allowing space—
for emotions to move, for the body to soften, for the self to return.
If this resonates with you, perhaps this is your reminder:
You do not have to carry everything alone.
One breath. One moment. One gentle tap at a time.
Love,
Fion
